Workshop Overview

Over-coming Shyness
Wednesday, September 24th, 2008, 3:00- 4:30 P.M.

Sometimes when students transfer to UCF they experience many different feelings and shyness is one of the most common. This workshop will go over why this occurs and the different tools you can utilize to overcome shyness. The Counseling Center here at UCF will be presenting this workshop. This is a great opportunity for transfer students, LIKE YOU, to come meet each other, learn about a great topic, oh yeah and have FREE pizza.

Experiential Learning: How-to find co-op, internship, and service-learning opportunities
Wednesday, October 8th, 2008, 3:00- 4:30 P.M.

This workshop is part of a Transfer Success Series hosted by the Peer Mentors of Transfer and Transition Services. Amanda Pacheco, of Career Services and Experiential Learning, will be presenting this workshop. The Experiential Learning office can help through co-op, internship, and service-learning opportunities. Co-op and internships offer work experience related to your major or career goals, and in most cases, these positions are paid. Service-Learning allows you to serve the community within the academic courses you choose. This session will tell you more about these options and how to get involved.

Career Services
Thursday, October 14th, 2008, 1:00- 2:30 P.M.

Does your major fit your personality? Still looking for the right major? Join us in this workshop by Career Services and take the Myers-Briggs personality inventory to find which major fits you best!

Study Abroad
Thursday, November 13th, 2008, 1:00- 2:30 P.M.

This workshop is part of a Transfer Success Series hosted by the Peer Mentors of Transfer and Transition Services. Michaela Fazecas, of the Office of International Studies, will be presenting this workshop. Topics being discussed include how a program is created, how much the average cost is and what the difference is between semester and short programs.
